A. Our season tends to run late June - October. This can vary dependant on pruning undertaken to ensure fruit quality, and of course what conditions Mother-Nature supplies us with.

Q. What is the difference in the types of tamarillos you grow?
A. We grow three colours of tamarillos, we grow all our tree stock from seed to ensure quality and consistency.
Red - The traditional colour tamarillos grown commercially in New Zealand, and often the type people know bet and have for childhood memories of for their distinct tart-sweet flavour and deep red skin. We grow several varieties of these; larger ones for our premium range, and smaller ones suitable for processing and scoffing.
Gold - These are smaller rounder fruit with deep golden skin. Less tart and acidic than the red variety, but they retain the tamarillo taste. Smaller seeds in this fruit make it ideal for marmalade.
Amber - We grow a heritage variety of amber tamarillos, they are a long slender fruit, again slightly sweeter than the gold variety with smaller seeds.
